Partnership for Compliance

  • The programme’s objective is to minimise risk to compliance incidents in the supply chain and prepare firms for future crises, building resilience. CSI provides companies with guidance in implementing due diligence in their supply chain, following international standards and guidelines (e.g. OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, ILO Core Conventions, ZDHC, SA8000, etc.). We support organisations in their quest for sustainable growth and enable them to move from CSR towards Shared Value in their supply chain.
  • CSI is a powerful partner for trainings and certifications. We certify organisations for their effort to implement sustainable practices in their supply chain. The Partnership for Compliance certificate is crucial for corporate competitiveness as it facilitates access to new markets and more demanding customers. Thanks to continuous training, documentation and certified employees, risk and liability issues can be reduced. All courses are designed for key personnel to develop a practical understanding of regulatory compliance requirements.
Modules
  • Partnership for Compliance is a certificate programme divided in three modules: baseline assessment, training, SPI-based monitoring system.
  • MODULE 1: BASELINE ASSESSMENT
    • We collect data on the social and environmental compliance of your suppliers and assess their compliance performance. The results submitted in an assessment report and corrective action plan (CAP) show the way for improvement. The assessment criteria reflect the requirements set by international standards and initiatives, such as BSCI, SA 8000, ZDHC, LWG or STeP by OEKO-TEX, among others.
  • MODULE 2: TRAINING
    • We provide customised training according to the baseline results. Courses vary from Occupational Safety and Health (OHS), Hygiene in Times of Coronavirus, Grievance Management, Carbon/Water Footprint to comprehensive Compliance Management, among others. Content and methodology of the training courses were developed by CSI following best practices and international standards. Participants will be awarded a certificate upon successful completion of the course.
  • MODULE 3: SPI-BASED MONITORING SYSTEM
    • Our SPI-based monitoring system (SVITCH Compliance Software) facilitates businesses to improve on the indicators most critical to sustainable development. Project managers monitor data on social compliance, environmental performance and, for instance, productivity on a monthly basis. Essential documents are digitally stored, managed and tracked to reduce paperwork and to improve internal communication. SPI-based monitoring enables your business to put shared value into practice. It allows you, for instance, to analyse resource consumption and give insights into the environmental impact your products have generated. It is an excellent tool to ensure compliance with national and international regulations, while other factors of competitiveness (e.g. quality, use of renewable resources, recycling) can be tracked effectively.

Workshops and Trainings

  • CSI has developed several certified courses that increase awareness, knowledge and skills in accordance with international standards and requirements, such as the ILO core conventions, the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, the World Health Organisation, and ISO management systems.

    • Sustainability Management
  • In addition, we give trainings on supply chain management, SPI monitoring, marketing, training of trainers, and other topics, which are all designed to deliver practical understanding to deal with the complexities that companies are facing in the globalised economy.

Social Compliance

  • SOCIAL COMPLIANCE
    • Becoming aware of the risks associated with non-compliances within your supply chain, we enable you to manage these risks and react to them adequately. While your reputation is improving, we actively work with you on strengthening your supply chain resilience to disruptive events.
    • Any human right violation can have an adverse impact on your business. Good working conditions are essential to respecting local laws and meeting the requirements of the consumer markets.
    • We support you in improving labour conditions in your supply chain and informing the public about your efforts in an appropriate way.
  • QUALITY AND PRODUCTIVITY
    • Labour standards, product quality and productivity are closely interrelated. Absenteeism, employee turnover or excessive working hours, for instance, weigh on quality and productivity as the performance drops.
    • Our customers recognise the need for high quality and efficiency levels in their supply chain, while compliance requirements are ensured. On-site inspections are a useful tool to assess the manufacturing process for potential for improving quality and efficiency levels. Third-party testing of physical, mechanical and chemical characteristics may be required to verify emission levels and secure international product safety standards.
    • Our self-assessment questionnaire and internal audit system mainly address compliance issues, but are also designed to check the functionality of the management system. This early-warning system helps identify weaknesses and areas for improvement with regard to labour standards, quality and productivity.
    • We make sure that compliance is never compromised, while deficiencies are corrected and performances improved.

Worker Engagement

  • Worker participation and social dialogue facilitate worker-management communication which can be harnessed to address compliance issues. Workers can help identify opportunities for process improvement or the resolution of non-compliances. They are a vital source of ideas to achieve more innovation, improve health and safety, or raise gender inequality issues. Developing a strong worker-management communication system is instrumental for firms to see the value of investing in their workforce.
  • We survey worker perspectives and give workers the opportunity to report on their working conditions. The results allow us to design trainings that prevent non-conformances and get workers more engaged.

Environmental Protection

  • ENVIRONMENTAL PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT
    • CSI offers an Environmental Performance Assessment that analyses how work processes in your supply chain affect air, water and soil pollution.
    • Looking for effective reductions in carbon dioxide and greenhouse gas emissions, we address the issues of resource efficiency, waste management and circular economy, among others.
    • Aligned with a responsible use of chemicals, negative effects on the environment and health can be avoided.
    • We understand environmental responsibility as a continuous effort, guiding you and your supply chain partners through the process. Environmental compliance and risk management will help your business navigate through times of crisis more effectively.
  • WWF LOW CARBON MANUFACTURING PROGRAMME (LCMP)
    • CSI has been accredited by the WWF Low Carbon Manufacturing Programme (LCMP) to support manufacturing firms in effectively bringing down carbon emissions, while providing best practices to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
  • CHEMICAL MANAGEMENT
    • Several standards and stakeholder initiatives have emerged to eliminate hazardous chemicals from the textile, garment, leather and footwear industry. We show you how to detox your supply chain.
    • CSI provides guidance to businesses on the safe use, handling, storage and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals. We direct you in the way to manage the risks associated with hazardous chemicals in the workplace.
    • A responsible use of chemicals conformant with internationally recognised requirements such as ZDHC or cads is paramount for an effective chemical management system. This is required to reduce the environmental impact, increase human safety, and allow you to deal with critical processes (e.g. procurement, purchase, storage, use) more safely and efficiently.
